Is a Lebanese daily newspaper founded in 1924. It is one of the oldest and most respected newspapers in Lebanon. The paper is known for its independent and critical coverage of Lebanese politics and society. Al Joumhouria has been awarded numerous prizes for its journalism, including the Samir Kassir Award for Freedom of the Press. The paper is owned by the Murr family, a prominent political family in Lebanon. The current editor-in-chief of Al Joumhouria is Elias Murr, the son of former Lebanese Prime Minister Michel Murr.
